We develop, produce, and sell our food products under multiple brands at different locations and in many different countries. Our customers rightfully expect all our products to offer the same safety and fit-for-purpose quality. Delivering the right quality and safe products to our consumers and customers is a shared responsibility for every employee within FrieslandCampina.

FrieslandCampina’s Golden Quality Rules

FrieslandCampina’s Golden Quality Rules represent our commitment to our customers in all aspects and give direction to our quality approach. We aim to ensure that our consumers and customers are and remain highly satisfied with our products. 

Our international and company-wide Food, Safety & Quality management system Foqus FS&Q is designed to fulfill these Golden Quality Rules at all stages of the global supply chain; from grass to glass. It is set up as a transparent system of policies and standards, addressing all processes important to guaranteeing the right quality of our products.

Our Quality department consists of various disciplines:

  • Local Quality: QA and QC colleagues on site are responsible for handling day-to-day operations.
  • Business Group Quality team: This team supports local QA on non-day-to-day topics such as project design and implementation, crisis management, and QMS processes. These teams are also responsible for customer and consumer support.
  • Global Quality: Provides the strategic direction for QA and QC, sets standards across the business, and drives synergies across BGs. This includes Supplier Quality Management, Food Safety, Performance, Systems, and Certifications.

  1. Consumer & Customer Focus: We focus on ensuring indispensable quality attributes and the key factors that drive consumer preference in our products.
  2. Business Oriented: All our Quality initiatives/activities must answer a need from the Business, our projects and initiatives must help RFC attain its goals.
  3. Prioritization: We work on the most important initiatives for the business, customers & consumers.
  4. Deliver results: We deliver tangible and positive results on the priorities identified. We deliver results that meet or exceed the expectations set forth.
  5. Continuous Improvement mindset: We instill a CI approach and mindset into the way we operate, and we have improvement as our Top Priority.
  6. Hands-on mentality:  We are practical-oriented, we roll up our sleeves, go to Gemba and do instead of say.

Quality and Safety

People all over the world use our products. That means we must deliver the same quality all over the world. To that end, we use quality standards and rules, which apply to all our production and distribution companies, among others. They must follow our standards and rules as laid down in Foqus Food Safety & Quality, our uniform quality assurance system.
