Supply Chain Finance Controller - West Africa

Provide accurate insights and visibility across the entire planning, sourcing, and delivery chain, with a strong focus on inventory management, logistics cost optimization, and material price evolution and variances for RoSSA.

Serve as the key point of contact for the Plant Director in Côte d’Ivoire; lead, motivate, and develop the Operations Controlling function. Ensure that all activities related to operational support, planning, financial analysis, budgeting, and reporting are properly planned, managed, and controlled in line with local and corporate requirements.

Act as the financial business partner to the Supply Chain Control team and the Plant (Make Control) team by providing reliable and regular analysis on business performance while:

Ensuring that all activities related to SCC/MC support, financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and reporting are properly planned, managed, and controlled in accordance with both local and corporate requirements.

Delivering timely and accurate supply-chain business insights in the agreed formats, along with ad hoc analyses. Critically assess results and develop forward-looking assumptions.

Analysing production costs by SKU and other key variables (Costing).

Collaborating with and supporting the business in key projects and initiatives to ensure financial objectives are achieved.

Coordinating and controlling financial forecasts for the plant and the S&OP-Supply process.

Ensuring proper inventory management across all stocks and fixed assets.

Managing fixed assets (including PTB and IAR) and implementing cost-reduction programs, including continuous-improvement initiatives (e.g., WCOM, ACE).

Ensuring the integrity and completeness of all stock flows in SAP.

He/She will execute the necessary control measures to ensure the company minimizes storage costs and optimizes all warehousing, production, and logistics-related expenses.

Required Knowledge: Finance, Accounting, Reporting, Inventory Management, Factory Controlling and Supply Chain Controlling.

Required Specialization: Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting, with a focus on Factory Controlling.

Required Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar multinational manufacturing environment; strong understanding of accounting terminology; solid knowledge of Supply Chain processes; proven experience as a Plant Controller; strong familiarity with accounting systems and ERPs such as SAP; experienced in inventory management (including stock counts and variance resolution); bilingual in English and French; excellent command of Microsoft Excel; ability to work under continuous pressure while meeting tight deadlines.

  1. Supply chain Financial Planning process

Provide real-time financial projections and analysis, including variance analysis and cost-control reporting. Identify associated risks and opportunities and provide actionable recommendations.

All deliverables should support and enhance the decision-making process to achieve the expected business outcomes.

  1. Logistic team

Monitor and control distribution and logistics costs. Analyse monthly expenses and report variances against budget for variable costs (distribution costs) and fixed costs (logistics) relating to distribution and selling activities.

  1. Material pricing

Collaborate, monitor, and update pricing trends for all imported raw and packaging materials in line with contractual terms. Investigate and report all variances versus the approved plan.

  1. Dairy Raw material (DRM)

Work with DS&T to achieve zero variance versus cost outlooks, ensuring minimal fluctuations and identifying mitigation actions to limit the financial impact of DRM price changes against the budget

Collaborate with the Supply Planning team to ensure robust raw-material planning that reflects favourable cost prices while maintaining competitive pricing across suppliers.

  1. Export activities

Calculate transfer prices for export operations.

  1. Month End Closing

Ensure an effective and efficient month-end closing process across all Supply Chain areas.

Provide Finance and Supply Chain teams with in-depth qualitative analysis on cost developments, stock coverage, and warehouse optimisation.

 

  1. Price and costing process

Oversee product costing and cost determination for new products, from innovation through to market launch, providing insights and updates on material prices as well as distribution and selling costs. Ensure real-time pricing and costing accuracy for all SKUs.

Analyse variances between standard costs and the financial plan. Execute the monthly Costing Run in SAP for all materials.

Collaborate with the Integrated Supply Chain Planning team on lead times and forecasted volumes to ensure an accurate and comprehensive cost view.

g.           Reporting and analysis

Responsible for monthly financial cost analysis.

Produce monthly and weekly reporting on material cost evolution.

Develop and formalize a standard stock-position overview by category, with documented control points and a regular reporting framework.

Implement and/or improve monitoring, control and reporting procedures for key Supply Chain KPIs.

Prepare monthly and weekly inventory reports by SKU and other major input materials.

Prepare MBR reports.

Support the SCC Director with BPMS reporting

h.           Budgeting and Management Reporting :

Oversee the processing, validity and functionality of the company’s financial budgets and establish adequate control mechanisms to ensure financial results align with approved budgets/objectives.

Collaborate with the SCC team to deliver the annual bottom-up budget. Ensure timely stakeholder engagement to deliver the complete annual budget package on schedule.

 

i.            Initiatives d'amélioration continue et d'économies

Work with the Procurement team to ensure accurate and complete purchase order status, including correct PO terms, expected delivery dates, and net pricing.

Work with the Supply Chain team to ensure accurate measurement and tracking of stock coverage levels (cycle stock, safety stock, strategic stock, and target inventory levels).

Develop KPIs (e.g., DIO) to manage stock-management efficiency.

Build and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships.

Support the creation of new materials in SAP, ensuring accurate and complete master-data records.

Support the delivery and monitoring of annual SCC savings (demurrage, truck-loading optimization, etc.).

2.           Plant and Production Control :

Implement control mechanisms to safeguard company resources, and ensure accurate reporting and analysis for plant operations, including variance analysis and cost-control reporting.

Review, analyse and assess financial data and information to ensure accuracy, consistency and transparency. Maintain the integrity of financial reports prepared by the Operations Controlling team.
