Are you eager to apply your sensory or food quality expertise in a real-world setting at one of the world’s leading dairy companies? Join our Sensory Team within the Methods and Analytical Development (M&AD) department as a Sensory Quality Intern, and play a key role in safeguarding the sensory quality of our products. This internship offers a unique opportunity to deepen your knowledge of sensory science and quality control while gaining hands-on experience in a global, multicultural environment.

- Flexible Work Environment: Split your time between our offices in Leeuwarden and Wageningen, work partly from home, and occasionally visit production locations.

- Educational Background: You are currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Sensory Science, Food Technology, Food Quality, or a related discipline.
- Knowledge & Passion: You have a solid foundation in sensory science and/or food quality and are enthusiastic about applying your skills in a practical, cross-cultural context.
- Soft Skills: You’re a strong communicator, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
- Availability: You’re available full-time (5 days/week) for 5–6 months, starting around February/March 2026 (flexible start date).

As a Sensory Quality Intern, you’ll be part of the Sensory Team within M&AD. The scope of this internship is global, supporting our sensory panels and panel leaders in over 45 laboratories and factories worldwide. Your responsibilities will include:
- Personal Assignment: You’ll work on a tailored assignment based on your background and interests. Potential topics include:
- Designing a training program for global panel leaders
- Updating training and communication materials o Exploring the setup of an internal proficiency testing scheme
- Conducting a literature review on replacing sensory analyses with physical/chemical methods
- Practical work: Assisting with panel trainings at factories
- Supporting Projects: Contribute to ongoing projects of the Sensory Quality team.

You’ll be part of a team of approximately thirty colleagues who provide FrieslandCampina’s laboratories and factories with expertise in sensory science, microbiology, chemistry, and process analytical technology.
On Tuesdays, you’ll work at our Innovation Centre in Wageningen, immersed in the R&D Expertise Team Product & Taste, specifically within the Consumer & Customer and the Sensory & Panel Team. On Thursdays, you’ll join the M&AD team in Leeuwarden, contributing to our quality control efforts from the heart of our operations.
