That feeling that you can really make a difference

Lesley - inclusive by nature

"What gives me the most energy is that feeling that you can really make a difference - for an individual, but also for a team and ultimately the business." Lesley is inclusive by nature. How does she translate this into her work as Global Diversity & Inclusion Lead at FrieslandCampina?

D&I Committee

As the Global D&I Lead, it's Lesley's job to act as a chairperson for our global D&I Committee. "The committee is the heart of our D&I movement. Our goal is to drive awareness and understanding of the D&I ambition and to create change within the organisation. We organise different activities globally, like sessions about perception biases and imposter syndrome, and honouring our 130 different nationalities by activities around important events, such as Chinese New Year and Ramadan."

Diversity is nothing without inclusion

"At FrieslandCampina we strongly believe that diversity & inclusion builds higher performing teams, fosters creativity, leads to better decisions and supports the creation of products and services that reflect the needs of the communities we serve. Having a diverse workforce means it is important to ensure that everyone feels valued, respected and engaged."

We need to create an environment that allows everyone to bring their best and authentic selves to work.

The power of We

"Personally, I get a lot of energy from working together with a diverse group of people. Hearing their stories, their passions, their ideas and ultimately learning about them as individuals and the cultures they represent. You never stop learning and by keeping an open mind to different views and perspectives you can enrich your own life experiences. You don't always have to agree, but it's important to take the time to listen and understand."
