Process Developer - Process Modelling

What we ask
- MSc or PhD degree in chemical engineering, (bio) process engineering or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in food, chemical, or pharmaceutical industries, ideally in a research or innovation setting.
- Proven skills in process modelling, simulation, and control strategies.
- Experience with modelling tools such as gPROMS, Aspen Plus, Python, or similar.
- Strong analytical skill with the ability to connect theory to practical applications in a factory setting.
- A proactive, collaborative team player with excellent communication skills, able to connect R&D and operations.

Vacancy description
As a Process Developer – Process Modelling, you will contribute to the design and optimization of dairy processing operations. You will work on unit operations such as heat treatment, membrane separation, spray drying, and chromatography.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing models for unit operations and process lines to support the design and implementation of new production processes.
- Analyzing, interpreting, and modelling experimental data, translating findings into actionable insights and clear documentation.
- Supporting the implementation of new processes at production sites in close collaboration with site technologists and process licensors.
- Maintaining and refining models to optimize factory operations and improve process performance.
- Collaborating with colleagues across engineering, operations, and R&D to translate process knowledge into robust models and practical improvements.
- Driving innovation by developing new process concepts, leveraging models to enhance efficiency, control, and sustainability.

In this position, you will be part of the R&D Science & Technology team within our Innovation Centre in Wageningen which includes around 50 technologists across five expertise areas. Aside from your direct co-workers you will collaborate with colleagues in Operations, Global Supply Chain Technology, and external partners.
