We deal with large amounts of diverse data within FrieslandCampina R&D. We believe that we can utilize this data to improve our innovation robustness, speed and impact. Over the past two years, we have built a state-of-the-art infrastructure, and a highly skilled Digital team to help us realize our goals. Now we are looking for a motivated intern who can realize value from our data, e.g., improve the yield / quality of product produced in our production processes. For this internship in particular we would like to focus on chemical analysis data.
What we ask
- You are currently enrolled as a student and pursuing a Masters degree in science or technology or statistics or data science
- You have knowledge of Matlab, R or Python or UI-based data transformation and analytics software
- Ideally have experience in working with chemical analytics data or spectroscopic data such as NIR, IR, or Raman
- Can-do mentality towards solving tasks for which new skills need to be acquired fast
- Affinity towards or knowledge of consumer packaged goods industry
- You either have EU nationality or if you are non-EU national, are enrolled at a Dutch educational institute

You will be expected to
- Team up with our internal data scientists and food technology colleagues, to understand the issue, and relevant data sources
- Learn new tools and techniques to use to tap into the data sources
- Analyze large volumes of data to extract insights out of the data
- Share those insights with the problem-owners in an easy-to-consume format, and collect feedback for further data gathering and analysis
- In addition, depending on the progress, you might get an opportunity to support with data requests related to other business opportunities

See all colleagues on LinkedInIn this position you will be located in the Digital group which is part of Friesland Campina R&D, but will work in a multidisciplinary team that extends to other research units such as Global Process Technology and Sustainability. The internship is based at the innovation center in Wageningen, however, we operate in a hybrid mode at the innovation center. You will be expected to be at the innovation center for a minimum of 1 day per week.
