Technical Sales Specialist
FrieslandCampina has a significant contribution to the worldwide market of ingredients for both Adult and Early Life Nutrition. You will have an important role in providing product and application knowledge to support the growth of our strategic customers in the fast-paced Asian Pacific Market.
Highlights:
- You enable our customers to provide their health conscious consumers with our nutritional solutions, helping them achieve their nutritional goals for either Early Life Nutrition or Adult Nutrition market
- Leverage your expertise in ingredients, both in Adult Nutrition and in Early Life Nutrition, to lead technical discussions with key customers.
- You are the linking pin between Sales and Marketing in translating customer needs to best fitting products or development opportunities.
What we ask
- You should have a sound technical background (MSc Food Technology or alike), and preferably technical knowhow on Adult or Early Life Nutrition and/or its ingredients (dairy proteins, hydrolysates, encapsulates, GOS, etc.)
- You should enjoy fast -paced commercial environment, which requires proactive stakeholder management and relation building abilities (marketing, sales, supply chain, QA, development and customers).
- Ability to actively collect and interpret technical market information (e.g., trends, needs, competitors, legislation, new products) and translate them into product and application ideas.
- Capability to technically lead customer visits, leveraging your expertise to offer insights and recommendations on product recipes and value propositions, using FrieslandCampina Ingredients. You will be required to visit different customers within the APAC region.
- Capability to design and deliver technical training sessions to distributors and key customers
- MSc in relevant discipline, preferable in Food Technology or related field withe at least 3 years of working experience;
- Alternatively, be able to document ample experience in food technology and product development.

Vacancy description
In this position, you will offer technical support to obtain commercial objectives towards our customers, by being a proactive business partner of Sales, Marketing and PGM. You focus on:
(1) maintaining and growing current business and
(2) landing innovations
You accomplish this through
1) Your technical and nutritional knowledge of our products and their role in AN or ELN applications:
Provide first line technical support to customers and sales colleagues, through responding to questions and by giving internal and external technical presentations and product trainings.
2) Your customer focus, commercial awareness and skills (e.g. value based selling):
Build and maintain a relation of trust with your key contacts at customers. Use this relation to gain insights in customer needs. Translate these needs to technical solutions and internal development projects. Focus on creating a WIN-WIN situation for RFC and our customers. Use of customer relation management system (Salesforce) to monitor and track progress.
3) Your involvement in creating innovations that fit customer needs and land those innovations.
You are involved in the End-to-End innovation process, through continuous interactions with Marketing, PGM, Development Clusters and New Product Development teams where you share your view on customer and market needs and give input on project requirements. You support in the development of Value Propositions and roll out of Innovations to the market by training the sales team and presenting and discussing the innovation at customer from a technical point of view.

You are part of a professional team of about 80 R&D colleagues. Within this larger team you work in an international team of 30 Technical Sales Specialists, who work on the different ingredients we offer to the market.
Your position is located at the or Singapore Development Center, but you will also work often with your colleagues in the Regional Sales Office as well as the rest of R&D and TSS located in the Netherlands.
