Joost grew up with a passion for cooking. As a young boy he started as a dishwasher in a fish restaurant in Zeeland, where he quickly worked his way up to Sous Chef. After working full-time as a chef for a year, he decided to study Business Administration in Rotterdam. After his bachelor's degree in Business Administration, he started as an intern in FrieslandCampina's Foodservice team, where he discovered that he could use his passion for cooking in a new way.

Passionate by Nature

Joost is passionate by Nature and, as Branding & Communication Manager at Debic, works on setting up and optimizing global campaigns on a daily basis. Debic is a professional FrieslandCampina dairy brand especially for chefs, confectioners and other professionals in the food service market. "We work a lot with catering and bakery professionals to develop new recipes and concepts with our products. Based on this, we develop campaigns to create more visibility with our (potential) customers. For example, we work on various touchpoints such as social media , email and advertisements. In this way I can express my passion for food in my work every day."

However, Joost has also ended up back in the kitchen since 2021, but this time as Chef in one of the soup kitchens in Rotterdam. "Together with three other volunteers, I work as a cook two Fridays a month. Together we put a free two-course dinner on the table for 60 people from the area who don't have a lot of money to spend. For me, this is a great way to make people happy and to use my passion for cooking."
