Joost's story
Joost grew up with a passion for cooking. As a young boy he started as a dishwasher in a fish restaurant in Zeeland, where he quickly worked his way up to Sous Chef. After working full-time as a chef for a year, he decided to study Business Administration in Rotterdam. After his bachelor's degree in Business Administration, he started as an intern in FrieslandCampina's Foodservice team, where he discovered that he could use his passion for cooking in a new way.

Connecting through food
However, Joost has also ended up back in the kitchen since 2021, but this time as Chef in one of the soup kitchens in Rotterdam. "Together with three other volunteers, I work as a cook two Fridays a month. Together we put a free two-course dinner on the table for 60 people from the area who don't have a lot of money to spend. For me, this is a great way to make people happy and to use my passion for cooking."
