CAPEX Project Controller
Are you energized by driving financial performance in complex CAPEX environments? As a CAPEX Project Controller, you will support multi‑site investment projects across FrieslandCampina by providing sharp financial insights, disciplined cost control and proactive partnership to project and plant teams. You will be based in Amersfoort (your contract location) and typically spend one day per week at the office. You will also travel regularly to our production sites across the Supply Chain clusters.Your work directly contributes to delivering sustainable, future‑proof assets across our Supply Chain network.
What we ask
- 5+ years of experience in project controlling, CAPEX/OPEX management, or financial control
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into meaningful insights
- Experience with forecasting, cost tracking, and financial reporting
- Hands‑on mentality and ability to challenge assumptions and drive improvements
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, comfortable interacting with project managers, plant teams and Controllers
- Knowledge of audit compliance, asset management and CAPEX frameworks is a strong plus
- Willingness to travel regularly to production sites across clusters

- Salary between €4,500 and €6,300 per month, depending on knowledge and experience (full-time);
- Full-time workweek of 38 hours, 5% year-end bonus, 10% bonus, and a pension;

Vacancy description
As CAPEX Project Controller, you will be responsible for the financial management of our capital expenditure projects. You will ensure project budgets are accurate, forecasts are updated, and financial performance is transparent and well‑controlled.
You will prepare robust business cases, Investment Authorization Requests (IAR), and post‑calculation analyses. With your strong cost‑control mindset, you maintain project cost overviews, track actuals and non‑committed spend, and safeguard alignment with approved budgets.
Partnering with project managers, plant managers and Controllers, you ensure timely and accurate OPEX and CAPEX forecasts. You will take an active role in SteerCo sessions, progress meetings and month‑end reviews, providing insights that enable sound decision‑making.
Your work includes setting up WBS structures, supporting scenario planning, performing cash‑flow management and offering financial analysis for scope changes. You will also play a key part in asset management by monitoring AUC postings, ensuring timely capitalization and closing audits in collaboration with fixed asset teams and local plant Controllers.
Additionally, you will support vendor management processes, including PO, GR/IR, escalation handling and payment follow‑ups, especially where project teams need guidance.
By identifying risks, challenging spending assumptions and driving accuracy in financial processes, you contribute directly to delivering our CAPEX portfolio efficiently and compliantly.
