Intern Reduction Water Consumption Cheese

Internship – Identification of reduction potential for water consumption in cheese production

RFC is the largest cheese manufacturer in the Netherlands. Production of cheese is a water intensive process. Water is used in the cheese production e.g. for washing of the curd and for cleaning of the unit operations (CIP). In our network of 6 production plants there are different ways of working with water. This internship should give us insight in where the different water consumption rates between the factories originate and help us to define a best practice for water consumption in Gouda cheese production.

You will be visiting several of our cheese production sites, deep diving into the different processes that consume water together with local technologists and operation experts. We expect you to be able to gather insights from different sites and come up with best practices. Lastly we challenge you to interpret and gather data from the shopfloor and come up innovative ideas to improve and exceed our internal benchmark!

Of course you will also get the opportunity to learn more about our way of working within FrieslandCampina Supply Chain and broader in the company.
