"It energises me to witness the personal development of my team members. An example of that is the colleagues in my team who came to the Netherlands as a refugee. To see their confidence grow and the value they are adding to our team is extremely rewarding. It excites me when we drive improvements that result in happier customers and lead to a more effective Supply Chain.”

Nienke is resilient by nature and will start soon in a new role as Global Statistical Planning Lead at our headquarters in Amersfoort. Do you want to find out how she has used her nature throughout her career path?

My journey at FrieslandCampina

My journey at FrieslandCampina started eight years ago with the Supply Chain Traineeship. This amazing opportunity allowed me to explore different factories in the Netherlands and abroad, building the foundation for my career today. For nearly five years, I immersed myself in the world of cheese at our Lutjewinkel factory. I worked as a Production Manager alongside a devoted team to craft our delicious cheeses.

We have good machinery, but you can really make the difference with your team when you truly collaborate with your colleagues.

After this role, I transitioned to another role within Supply Chain; leading a team as Manager Customer Services B2B for cheese, butter and milk powder. My journey at FrieslandCampina continues, as I recently embarked on an entirely new adventure as Global Statistical Planning Lead. I will focus on building a new team that will develop statistical models for our sales forecasts, which is exciting because it allows me to work with several business units in FrieslandCampina.

In my job, I like to be ‘the spider in the web’

Title
Resilient by nature

Content

I am resilient by nature. Improvements are often challenging to achieve, and my resilience helps me deal with setbacks and keep looking for solutions. Continuously improving our business processes allows us to keep our Supply Chain future-proof.

This resilience is something that also exists in my personal life. In January 2023, I climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. It was a great adventure, and reaching the 5895-meter top after five days was amazing. Getting ready for this great adventure was a joy in itself. I also raised money for charity – and the support I received from my colleagues at FrieslandCampina was heart-warming.

Title
Personal growth and curiosity

Content

In addition to being resilient, I am also curious by nature, which leads me to seek opportunities for learning constantly. This is one of the aspects I value most at FrieslandCampina; the attention given to personal development – a true win-win. I joined several leadership trainings and am currently pursuing a Supply Chain certificate. It's not just about individual growth; when employees are motivated to develop themselves, it ultimately benefits both us and FrieslandCampina.

Diverse way of working

Our Customer Services Team is a diverse group of individuals with various ages and backgrounds. Our team includes members from Italy, Turkey, and the Caribbean Islands. One of our colleagues chose to continue working at FrieslandCampina even after reaching the age of 67, showing an outstanding commitment.

Building a diverse, motivated and resilient team is something I love to do

Recently, our Turkish colleagues did something really nice. They invited all of us to try a special Turkish breakfast, freshly made the night before. It was a chance to learn about their culture and what's important to them. This is one of the things working at FrieslandCampina is about, embracing the power of differences in order to grow together.
