Route to Market Manager

Within FrieslandCampina Professional, we are looking for a Route to Market Manager. This job contributes to FrieslandCampina's success by developing the future logistics network for Professional. The RtM Manager translates Our Purpose Our Plan into a (customer) logistics strategy and reviews the network and customer logistics to transform it into a fit for purpose, future proof solution. The program will be developed in close cooperation with the commercialization&SC Development team and the Logistics team. Cost to serve is one of the key KPIs for this role. Next to this the RTM Manager will act as a partner with the customer care manager for developing the customer journey

What we ask

  • Master degree, preferably in the area of Industrial / Supply Chain Engineering, Econometrics or Operations research
  • Minimum 5 years of Supply Chain/Operations and Distribution experience
  • Good project management and co-operation skills with several levels in the organization
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new environments with focus on working within an international team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English
  • Well developed analytical skills, conceptual thinking skills
  • Experience in network or footprint design required, knowledge of network optimization software preferred
  • Capable to build a true relation of trust with both commercial and supply chain partners
  • Very strong capabilities in MS Excel, Powerpoint and SAP
  • Commercial affinity
  • Enthusiastic, able to motivate and engage with colleagues, management and customers
  • Willingness to travel

Vacancy description

As Route to Market Manager, you are responsible for the design and implementation of state-of-the-art and worldwide solutions for strategic logistics projects such as transport optimization, network modelling, process and methods analysis, cost containment, capacity enhancement, routing and shipment optimization or information management. In close cooperation with procurement, you will define strategic partners who will execute and support our logistics activities. We are constantly evaluating the set-up of our logistics network and see it as a key competitive advantage to be leading in our logistics cost structure and service to customers. Your responsibilities are:

  • Provide input to the Customer Supply Chain and Business Group strategy

  • Translate Our Purpose Our Plan, commercial and supply chain into a RtM strategy

  • Develop and ensure execution of the RtM strategy for FrieslandCampina, in close cooperation with the commercial teams, commercialization and the logistics team

  • Define strategy for new businesses by analyzing the latest trends and developments in the market and translating this to the own department

  • Gathering and analyzing logistics order and transport data

  • Observe and evaluate bottlenecks and identify opportunities and drives improvement actions in route to market and network, and ensure implementation of improvements

  • Translate strategy into actionable roadmap

  • Developing and implementing alternative network scenarios to evaluate, eg increase or decrease number of warehouses, change warehouse locations, …

  • Providing recommendations on way forward for management and other internal stakeholders

  • Lead and/or participate in assigned projects within the project management guidelines
