Manager SHE Thailand

Ensure the organization and execution of the year plan and direct the own team, in line with the department/plant strategy and applicable guidelines, to realize the team objectives. Drive continuous SHE improvement.

•    Set up and execution of the annual SHE plan of the location and translate this into SMART objectives;
•    Responsible to deliver insights and translates this to concrete actions and follow up;
•    Pro-active research on compliance issues and escalate them to the LT (Local Leadership Team) and/or BG SC MT (Business Group Supply Chain Management Team) if necessary;
•    Coordinate and supervise day-to-day activities of the own team;
•    Implement and follow-up of SHE guidelines;
•    Provide and follow up on management information;
•    Implement continuous improvement related to SHE;
•    Carry out internal audits;
•    Execute all people management tasks within the team.
•    Interacts and contributes to the SHE community in an engaging way, drive for results in proactive manner;
•    Finds and drives pragmatic solutions;
•    Proactive: identifies SHE challenges and develops pragmatic, fit for purpose solutions and an implementation strategy to mitigate before risks before these result in accidents; 
•    Proactive : drives execution based on personal drive and commitment, delivers results proactively, offers support to peers without being asked;
•    Manage and lead own SHE team (size of team varies per location);
•    Cooperate in BG and Corporate workgroups in order to develop Standards, training, tools, etc.

1 Overall
•    SHE professional with a strong passion,  drive and competences needed to manage a local SHE agenda and contribute to FC’s strategic SHE objectives.
•    Passionate collaborative professional with the drive and determination to own FC’s SHE Topics.
•    Supports plant manager on safety, health and environmental compliance.
•    Contributes substantively and process-wise on creating and implementing SHE policy and improvement program.
•    Challenge and support management, staff and project organisation related to SHE issues, ensure transfer of knowledge to management and staff.
•    Leading, driving change to ensures a local proactive approach on the dynamic risk assessment and action plans by the plant.
•    Collect information (e.g. via benchmarking), keep knowledge up to date, monitor internal and external developments and share relevant information with employees.
•    Develop and execute training courses or programs, planned and ad hoc, for groups and individuals (one-on-one), on SHE items.
•    Obtain and maintain permits from the local authorities, issue reports and yearly statements, monitor compliance with regulations and (certification) requirements and initiate relevant corrective actions where appropriate, in accordance with relevant legislation and other requirements.
•    Represents Business Group on SHE topics in relevant internal and external project groups.
•    Content expert on SHE topic within the BG and supports other plants on this topic.

2. Leadership / People Management

•    Creates, promotes and acts as a behavioural role model specific on Safety, Health, Environment and Sustainability.
•    Educates team, LT and organisation in understanding, evaluating, mitigating risks and adapting to changes.
•    Persuades other to show leadership on SHE topics.
•    Take accountability, be result-oriented, and be a pro-active decision maker.
•    Generate solutions and empower team members to make decisions themselves.
•    Lead, coach, develop and motivate colleagues by listening, showing involvement, correcting and complimenting performance.
•    Take the leadership role within the team and be responsible for the capability development amongst team members by facilitating learning on the job and implementing the training matrix.
•    Nourish growth during continuous dialogues and create a positive learning environment.
•    Take ownership for the performance management cycle activities and provide regular feedback.
•    Cooperate with the team and other stakeholders and be able to oversee consequences, actions and decisions for the chain and ensured knowledge sharing.
•    Act as a change manager for the team and be responsible for two-way communication.

3. Compliance, permits and (external) stakeholders

•    Responsible for appropriate local SHE and sustainability policy according continues improvement cycle in management system.
•    Responsible for SHE and sustainability management review process.
•    Ensure compliance according BG DE and corporate SHE policy.
•    Responsible for stakeholder analyses and as a result, identifies risks and draws up measures for the purpose of business continuity.
•    Represents SHE and sustainability agenda in the OR on behave of the LT on request.
•    Supervises compliance permits and manages adjustments if necessary.
•    Responsible for the BG’s Environmental compliance agenda.
•    Responsible for the BG’s Sustainability agenda.
•    Communicates with authorities upon legal and permit aspects.

4. Management structure

•    Part of Leadership Team.
•    Arrange and chair periodical meetings on different levels to ensure strategy deployment and execution of annual plans.
•    Set up structure with (internal and external) stakeholder to create collaboration on mitigating risks.
•    Gives insight and understands strategical priorities (local and BG) and translates into (local) goals.
•    Develop and execute communication plan on SHE topics (local and BG).
•    Establish and maintain relationship with competent authority.

5. Responsibilities & continuous improvement

•    Drives accountability, drives integration of SHE responsibilities in daily operations management decisions.
•    Create long term vision to ensure next level on safety culture and translates this into a supported unrecognized by the LT (multi) annual SHE plan.
•    Deals with conflicting interests pragmatically and sees larger FC interest (act with long term view).
•    Courage to challenge and drive change in appealing way.

•    Conducts internal audits (own plant and plants in BG and within RFC).
•    (Functional) Design of reporting and registration SHE systems for the assigned discipline, ensure and support the implementation of systems (e.g. via the development and execution of training programmes) and improve systems where necessary.
•    Supervises safety reports and follow-up of outstanding issues.
•    Chairman in the Safety pillar.
•    Supervises SHE Risk assessments.
•    Supervises  Incident investigations.
