Demand Planning Manager

This job contributes to FrieslandCampina’s success by ensuring the high level of competence within the Demand area. Key activities are to monitor, consolidate and improve the demand plan (0-18 months) for the business based on the commercial plans of sales and marketing and in alignment with finance and the supply chain. By driving an effective and efficient Demand Review process within the Fighting Unit and hand-over to the supplying Customer SC(s) in the S&OP process, ensuring that the demand is fulfilled at the required service levels. Accountable for Forecast Accuracy & Bias together with commercial teams.

The Demand Lead is part of the Customer Supply Chain Philippines within the business group Consumer Dairy. This business group is one of the four business groups within FrieslandCampina. Consumer Dairy is responsible for selling, planning, making and delivering consumer dairy products around the globe. Within Consumer Dairy the Customer Supply Chain Philippines is responsible for planning and delivering consumer dairy products to Philippines.  The Demand team serves 396 customer drop points (19 general trade, 333 modern trade, 18 Food service group, 2 E-commerce & 24 Kievit) from seven distribution centres.

Demand Planning Manager

What we ask

  • Bachelor or Master degree, preferably in Supply Chain Management/Logistics or Marketing
  • Minimum of 8 years of Demand Planning experience (or relevant other experience)
  • Knowledge of principles such as forecasting, S&OP, statistics
  • Knowledge of sales and marketing in an Food environment
  • Knowledge of ERP-systems (preferred SAP, APO DP/SNP, BW, MicroStrategy)
  • Knowledge of MS Office (advanced)
  • Knowledge of operational processes/supply chain management
  • Knowledge of E2E Supply Chain processes within FMCG
  • Fluently in English and Tagalog , written and spoken
  • APICS or other relevant certification

Vacancy description

Fighting Unit Customer SC Demand Strategy

  • Develops and ensure execution of the Demand strategy for the own Demand department in order to improve demand excellence
  • Defines strategy for new businesses by analyzing the latest trends and developments in the market and translating this to the own department
  • Contribute pro-actively to the strategic planning process (ICP / 12Q) together with the S&OP lead
  • Provides input to the Customer SC S&OP Lead

 

Demand Supervision and Consolidation

  • Supervise and consolidate the Fighting Unit unconstrained (or agreed upon constrained) demand plans from the demand planners into the S&OP demand plan as input to the supply plan
  • Communicate/report to the demand planners and commercial teams decisions/constraints from the (pre-)S&OP process and drive the related actions to take place in the Fighting Unit
  • First point of contact for the commercial organization (Fighting Unit, Sales, Marketing, Category teams, Key Account team) for the operational and/or tactical planning horizon

 

Representing commercial requirement & needs

  • Understand the impact of business dynamics (NPD, EOL, promotions, events, seasonality, leads, tenders, contracts, inventory) in the demand plan
  • Understand, apply and maintain Fighting Unit priority rule book (product & customer) based on input from Category, Key Account team and/or commercial teams (sales, marketing) and manage in case of e.g., out of stocks and matching of demand & supply
  • Gives input to the S&OP priority rule book (product & customer)

 

Monitoring planning (PDCA-cycle) & Analysis

  • Monitor, analyze and challenge the quality of the Fighting Unit demand plans (made by the demand planners & sales) : assumptions, deltas, trends, issues, gaps, risks, opportunities
  • Drive continuous improvement of the forecast accuracy in alignment with the Fighting Unit Commercial teams (sales & marketing)
  • Support the S&OP process (in relation to Demand) for the Fighting Unit
  • Support the scenario management process (in relation to Demand) in the preparation for the (pre-)S&OP meetings and provide input on market intelligence
  • Coordinate any activities related to the constraining and allocation process for the Fighting Unit and determine impact on customer level  
  • Continuously look for opportunities & improvements within daily work context and take ownership in implementing solutions

 

Sales Targets Development

  • Collaborates with the Sales Leadership Team in developing and deploying annual and tactical targets to the sales teams. This ensures proper performance management and that top-line company initiatives are aligned and executed in the field.

 

Projects

  • Leads and/or participates in assigned (Customer supply chain, cross functional) projects, within the project management guidelines (e.g. NPI, NPD, Change controls, improvement) in- and outside the Customer SC Philippines

 

KPIs and Continuous Improvement & Management Information

  • Observe and evaluate bottlenecks and identify opportunities and drives improvement actions in demand planning and demand consolidation related processes, planning systematics, procedures and/or systems, and ensure implementation of improvements after approval in the Customer SC and Fighting Unit.
  • Be the owner of KPI dashboards, insights and decision documents regarding quantitative and qualitative developments by means of periodical (e.g. FA, FB, S&OP MA related to DP, etc.) and ad hoc reports and/or analyses, based on reporting guidelines to drive PDCA cycle in your area of expertise
  • Responsible to develop insightful, actionable and user friendly KPI dashboards and reports and to distribute share with relevant stakeholders
  • Participates in Community of Practice and drive local implementation of BG Excellence initiatives
  • Monitor, analyze and challenge the quality of the Fighting Unit order fulfillment
  • Coordinate any activities related to the constraining and allocation process for the Fighting Unit and determine impact on customer level  
  • Continuously look for opportunities & improvements within daily work context and take ownership in implementing solutions

  • Manages the department in such a way that the work is carried out effectively, the sales department is optimally supported and S&OP process is applied
  • Leads and develops a team (incl. team leads if applicable) through coaching and feedback to maximize performance of themselves and their respective teams
