Cost and Planning Estimator
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cost and Planning Estimator for CAPEX Projects in the Food Industry to support our project managers and establish a library for cost estimation and planning. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing accurate and timely cost estimates and project schedules for our capital expenditure projects, with a particular focus on the food industry. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Wat we vragen
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in cost estimating and planning for CAPEX projects in the food industry.
- Strong understanding of project management principles, including cost estimating, scheduling, and risk management.
- Knowledge of food industry regulations, including HACCP, GMP, and FSMA.
- Familiarity with project management software, such as Principal Toolbox, Microsoft Project, or similar tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Willingness to travel as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a library of cost estimates and project schedules for CAPEX projects in the food industry, using historical data and industry benchmarks.
- Evaluate the costs of new and existing processes, technologies, and equipment to improve cost estimation accuracy.
- Provide accurate and timely cost estimates for all phases of the project, including design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring that all activities are sequenced and resourced appropriately.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to identify and analyze cost drivers and schedule risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
- Participate in the development of project budgets and cash flow forecasts.
- Monitor and report on project costs and schedule performance, identifying variances and developing corrective actions as needed.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure that cost estimates are accurate and up-to-date.
- Review and analyze project specifications and drawings to identify cost and schedule risks and opportunities.
- Work with project teams to develop value engineering and cost-saving solutions.
- Provide training and support to project managers on cost estimating and planning best practices.
