Specification Specialist
Working in FrieslandCampina’s Global Packaging Development Team means you are truly serving the world. You will be part of a team involved in developing new low-cost packaging formats for the Nigerian market, creating the next generation Global Infant Formula packaging format for Friso in Asia or validating new sustainable materials for liquid carton packaging for western Europe.
We challenge you to bring in your expertise to our team to drive packaging specification and system of our packaging materials, globally. From the R&D Centre in Wageningen, you provide advice & support to internal as well as external parties, making sure the packaging specifications are available and accurate. All this takes place in the close connection with the Global Packaging Development Team and internal disciplines such as RA, QA, Procurement and SQM.
What we ask
To become Packaging Specification Specialist, you are/have:
- A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in an area such as Material Science, Chemistry, Packaging, Food Science/Technology or related.
- Knowledge in packaging materials and processes.
- Affinity with: Specification management systems, ideally SAP PLM, digital tools (PowerBI).
- Eager to learn and to develop and apply new knowledge and processes.
- Ability to challenge status-quo and create enthusiasm for change.
- Personal skills: proactive, ownership, analytical, accurate with a hands-on mentality and excellent communication and presentation skills (fluency in English).

Vacancy description
As a Senior Packaging Specification Specialist, your main accountabilities and responsibilities will be:
- Supports packaging developers in new product/ packaging developments as a specification specialist.
- Lead and instruct users of various internal disciplines and support development teams with updated specification process and procedures.
- Maintaining packaging specification globally and facilitate change processes.
- Identify business related risks and consequences of changes in specifications.
- Formulates and ensures implementation of specification standards and accompanying procedures/instructions.
- Supports SAP PLM system and its improvements.
- Supports continuous improvement of packaging specification procedure.
