Manager Payroll & Data Quality Asia

As the Regional Payroll Manager, you will lead the end-to-end payroll operations for multiple countries, primarily focusing on Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Other Asian payrolls. You will manage a team of payroll professionals, ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, and act as the key contact for external payroll vendors. This role plays a vital part in ensuring payroll compliance, process optimization, and an excellent employee experience across the region.

  • 10+ years payroll experience, including 5+ years in a leadership/regional role, with strong exposure to multi-country payroll operations (Asia preferred), payroll controls, compliance, and process improvement/automation initiatives.
  • Shared service experience in food & beverage is an advantage.
  • Digital & automation literacy: knowledge of HR and office applications (Excel, PowerBI, Coupa, SAP, Nexon).

On a daily basis, this role leads and safeguards end-to-end payroll operations across Asia (with primary focus on Malaysia, Philippines and Singapore, and additional countries as assigned). The Manager Payroll & Data Quality Asia ensures payroll is delivered accurately, on time, and compliant, while continuously improving processes and strengthening governance.

Daily tasks & responsibilities

Run and oversee payroll delivery: coordinate monthly payroll cycles, validate payroll inputs and outputs, manage cut-off activities, and ensure smooth execution with internal teams and external payroll vendors.

Lead the regional payroll team: monitor performance, coach and support team members, review KPIs (accuracy, timeliness, quality), and ensure strong collaboration across countries.

Manage vendors and escalations: act as the primary point of contact for payroll providers, track service levels, resolve issues quickly, and ensure contracts and delivery standards are met.

Drive process improvement and standardisation: identify gaps and inefficiencies, implement improvements, and support automation and harmonisation in partnership with Digital HR and Finance.

Ensure compliance and control readiness: strengthen payroll controls, support audits, enforce internal policies, and work closely with Internal Control, Corporate Tax, and external auditors.

Who the candidate will work with

This role works in close partnership with People Services & Solutions teams, Global HR Operations, Retained HR, Finance (including pension controlling), Corporate Tax, Internal Control, and Digital HR / integration teams, while coordinating daily with local payroll vendors, pension providers, and external auditors.

This is a regional discipline role with direct impact across multiple Asia countries, ensuring payroll governance and service quality across the region while aligning to global standards and strategy.
