Job Title: Sensory & Consumer Specialist, Asia

Purpose of the Role:At FrieslandCampina, we are seeking an experienced Sensory & Consumer Specialist with the passion to support acceleration of product innovation across Asia. You will provide clear direction on product experience for new developments and optimizations, identify key drivers contributing to optimal product experience, safeguard product performance and support creation of compelling selling stories. This role is based in our Development Centre in Singapore.

Required Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of relevant work experience, or Master’s or PhD degree with at least 3 years of relevant work experience
Strong in sensory techniques and experience working with in-house sensory trained/expert panels in food, dairy, or beverage categories
Ability to run panel tasting sessions, generate/analyze sensory data is advantageous
Fluency in sensory software (R, EyeOpenR, XLSTAT, EyeQuestion, etc) a plus
Proficient in broad consumer research methods and statistical analysis, capable to write report with minimal supervision
Fluent in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Fluent in English, both spoken and written
Proactive, independent person who enjoys working in a multicultural, multidisciplinary team
Able to travel within SEA to monitor fieldwork when required

Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage sensory & consumer studies within business projects
Closely collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to drive clarity on study’s purpose and success criteria
Work independently, able to recommend appropriate research approaches and sensory techniques, align with established protocols, plan study design, analyze data, write report and share findings
Link sensory data to consumer test data, select/use most suitable statistical method to run holistic deep dive analysis to provide robust guidance on improvement directions to product developer and aid business/project decisions
Interpret results and present clear conclusions and recommendations in easy-to-digest and audience friendly format, with key messages tailored to project/business needs
Main Accountabilities
Actively ensure product success and safeguard product performance, recommend/implement best practice setup for projects including sensory monitoring (shelf-life test, etc)
Brief / partner with sensory panel leaders to co-design sensory test, recommend appropriate sensory technique to generate sensory data to fulfill project needs
Brief / manage external research partners to drive flawless & timely end-to-end execution of research activities. Ensure quality check on results delivered by vendor
Act as sparring partner in executional discussions with marketing and R&D about study design and approaches for projects (Market Research brief, Product & Pack brief, etc)
An effective communicator, able to influence stakeholder decisions with study results

You will be part of the Sensory & Consumer Asia team within the larger R&D Product & Taste department, which includes about 40 R&D colleagues in the Innovation Centre of Wageningen (the Netherlands) and the Development Centre of Singapore.
