Manager Export Logistics

Within the Customer Supply Chain organization of FrieslandCampina Professional&Trading we are looking for a Manager Export Logistics. This job contributes to the success of FrieslandCampina by developing the future network for Export Logistics. The Manager Export Logistics leads a team that consists of order processors, documentation specialists and the ocean carrier performance manager. He/she reports into the Global Logistics Lead for Professional&Trading. The manager Export Logistics runs the daily operation, ensures a high level of customer satisfaction, determines priorities within the team and steers the team accordingly. OTIF, Carrier performance, Export Compliance and Cost to serve are main KPI’s.  
He/she drives the Performance+ agenda for P&T Export Logistics and documentation in close cooperation with the Logistics Excellence team and  supports the Logistics Procurement on Ocean Freight tenders.
By harmonizing and simplifying processes and procedures cross BG's, he/she drives continuous improvement on export logistics, sharing best practices within the logistics community (cross BG’s) and supports other departments implementing these.

What we ask

  • Master degree, preferably in the area of Supply Chain - Logistics and min. 7-10 years experience;
  • Knowledge of order to cash processes and international distribution, relevant international transportation regulation, customs and export documentation;
  • Good project management skills;
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new environments with focus on working within an international team;
  • Change management, is able to coach and motivate team members toward a digital and robust way of working based on first time right processing;
  • Leadership skills, able to set right priorities and lead team towards structural improvement;
  • Good stakeholder management skills; serving multiple BG’s;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English;
  • Well developed analytical skills, conceptual thinking skills;
  • Enthusiastic, able to motivate and engage with colleagues, management and customers;
  • Willingness to travel.

In close cooperation with procurement, you will define strategic partners who will execute and support our logistics activities.  We are constantly evaluating the set-up of our logistics network and see it as a key competitive advantage to be leading in our logistics cost structure and service to customers. 

Vacancy description

Your responsibilities are:

  • Provide input to the Customer Supply Chain and Business Group strategy;
  • Develop and ensure execution of the Logistics strategy for FrieslandCampina, in close cooperation with the commercial teams, commercialization and the logistics P&T and excellence team;
  • People management, coach, motivate and develop team members;
  • Export compliance;
  • First level of escalation in case of operational or customer issues;
  • Manage Transportation and documentation costs;
  • Initiate and drive Performance+ program for Export Logistics;
  • Carrier performance management;
  • Observe and evaluate bottlenecks, identify opportunities and drive improvement actions for orderprocessing, transportation and/ documentation, and ensure implementation of improvements;
  • Providing recommendations on way forward for management and other internal stakeholders;
  • Lead and/or participate in assigned projects within project management guidelines.

The Logistics Team is part of the FrieslandCampina Customer Supply Chain Professional and Trading organisation and is based in Amersfoort. You will be part of a diverse, ambitious team and will report to the Global Logistics lead. As the majority of your team is located in Wolvega, you will be working in a hybrid model with a minimum of 2 days in Wolvega per week. You will frequently be in contact with our butter/cheese/cream locations and will visit them now and then.
