The Commercial Finance Analyst is a key role and acts as a service provider to Finance Business Partners and management by performing reporting activities and by providing in-depth financial analysis for the purpose of strategic and tactical decision-making

- B.Sc/HND degree in any discipline with minimum of second class lower degree/upper credit
- Experience working as finance business partner preferably in an FMCG.
- Professional accounting qualification is an added advantage/plus
- Substantial relevant commercial and/ or management reporting experience, including significant exposure to senior executives and directors
- Diagnoses and problem solving.
- Independent and pro-active.
- Influencing skills to convince on the base of arguments

Partnering with sales team across all divisions on all commercial aspects of the business from contract negotiation to innovative to pricing strategies accordingly (administer strategy for excess) creating financial models with scenario suitable for the regions to aid in monitoring progress and review.
Supporting General Managers across all divisions to achieve defined targets by acting as the commercial expert within the sales team, assisting in increasing financial awareness and communication with frequent review on monthly profitability versus target.
Prompt resolution on customer related issues.
Driving sales category and channels sellout performance vs prior year through effective channel growth monitoring and effective use of trade spend in collaboration with Trade Stock Report (TSR) to reduce stock in trade.
Maximizing returns on trade spend through effective pre-evaluations and post-evaluations on all promotional activities and identifying areas of improvement.
Conducting periodic SKU profitability checks and advise the controller on optimal sales opportunities by analysing monthly gross margins across all SKUs and driving pricing implementation.
Calculation and payment of customer incentives based on company policy, investigating, processing claims by Key Business Partners and providing support for commercial decision making on sales & marketing expenditure.
Efficient discount utilization to prevent risk and exposure on trade investments as well as driving sellout of Hero SKUs through effective discount management.
Lead budgeting and forecasting discussions for the respective areas of SG&A.
Monthly tracking of functional SG&A spend with Directors and HODs to keep spend below budget.
Productive engagements with field team and channel managers
Adhering to the Month-end closing checklist to ensure that all month-end procedures are fully completed and reviewing all balance sheet schedules prior to formal month closing.
