Significant career shift
Starting his career at Yamaha, RikRik Rizki used his Chemistry degree in an unexpected way—working on pianos and guitars. When he joined FrieslandCampina as a QC Analyst, his first two years were spent in the lab, a role that aligned closely with his background. However, in 2010, he faced a significant shift when he transitioned to the Dairy Development Program (DDP). Without any prior experience in dairy farming or livestock management, this move was a leap into the unknown. What drew him in was the opportunity for hands-on fieldwork and engaging directly with stakeholders like farmers and cooperatives. FrieslandCampina saw his potential, valuing his soft skills alongside technical expertise, which opened the door to this exciting new chapter.
I was honestly a bit shocked at first. My background was all about the lab, and cows weren’t even on my radar. But what drew me in was the chance to work in the field, making a tangible difference for farmers and communities. It wasn’t just about technical skills—it was about caring for the people and the process

Contribute to the community
For RikRik, the Dairy Development Program became more than a role—it was a platform to uplift communities. In 2012, he attended technical training in the Netherlands, where he gained in-depth knowledge about dairy farming and milk production. The challenge was to adapt these insights to Indonesia’s unique context, ensuring quality improvements in partnership with local farmers. Over the years, his responsibilities expanded to managing collaborations with universities, government bodies, and international NGOs. His work has directly contributed to sustainable development within the dairy sector, positively impacting both the community and the industry.
