Quality with impact: making a difference every day

As the Site Quality Manager in Veghel, I am responsible for ensuring the quality of our products and processes. My goal is to make sure we deliver safe, high-quality products that can be released to our customers with confidence. The most important thing? Satisfied customers and colleagues. Together with my team, we work every day to identify and resolve quality issues. Whether it's analyzing complaints and deviations, auditor feedback, or production challenges, we strive to foster a culture where quality awareness is central to everything we do.

In addition to my role as Site Quality Manager, I also work two days a week as the Program Manager for Friso Quality within the Specialised Nutrition (SN) business group. Based on feedback from our Chinese customer and insights from departments such as Marketing and Sales, we’ve developed a program built around seven performance touch points. In this role, I also get to collaborate closely with various departments across the Supply Chain. It’s precisely through this collaboration that we’re able to consistently improve quality and increase customer satisfaction. And really, what could be more rewarding than seeing a baby smile because they are growing up healthy thanks to FrieslandCampina’s nutrition?

From insight to impact: continuous improvement pays off

内容

One of the milestones I’m most proud of is the structural improvement of First Time Right (FTR) in Veghel over the past two years. FTR is a key performance indicator because it’s directly linked to cost savings, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency. A higher FTR means less time and fewer resources spent on rework and corrections, which speeds up production and boosts customer satisfaction. It also helps identify areas where processes can be streamlined to enhance overall quality and efficiency. By collaborating with a cross-functional team to analyze on a monthly basis which factors influence product release time, we were able to implement structural improvements. This resulted in a shorter release time for finished products, while still meeting the FTR target. As a result, we have been able to structurally reduce working capital.

Moving forward together: growing by continuously learning

内容

Collaboration and a continuous drive for improvement as a team – that’s what it’s all about. By striving for better results as one team, we take steps forward, one at a time. One vision, one focus, and new ways of improving – like rolling out the Our Way of Working program – give everyone the energy and enthusiasm to drive improvement together.

Being continuously challenged helps you discover more about yourself – and that’s how you grow. My latest challenge brought me to Veghel, where the production process is completely different. What kind of quality challenges come with membrane technologies, roller drying, and more? And how do the expectations of Food, Pharma, and Feed customers differ from those of infant nutrition customers? — Marieke, Site Quality Manager & Program Manager Friso Quality
