QA Specialist External Manufacturing
The QA Specialist External Manufacturing has a strong involvement in projects of NPD or Changes that involving external manufacturers and ensures the SQM qualification, development and management for external manufacturers are compliant to FrieslandCampina’s quality requirements through a consistent global standard and process. In order to consistently deliver safe and trusted branded finished product through regular deliveries and in launches with Global Supply Chain external manufacturers.
You will be responsible on qualification, development, management and project involvements for about 25 EM partners located worldwide and/or within region which producing either Global or Local FC Branded products such as Chocomel, Vifit, Mona, Debic, Rainbow, Dutch Lady, and many more. Strong influence needed to assure external manufacturing partners adhere to FC Quality standards and to convince FC to make necessary investments/expertise to assure product quality.

- Bachelor of Science degree or higher in a scientific or technical discipline (Food Science, Chemistry/Microbiology, or related)
- Quality mindset with working experience in quality operations and/or managerial (minimum 5 years)
- Knowledge of partner quality management approach and having strong auditing capabilities with adequate risk mitigation strategies to assure quality within compressed time-frame
- Knowledge of quality systems, including GMP, HACCP, change control, continuous improvement, document control, root cause analysis, etc. and having understanding of continuous improvement tools to prevent problems before their occurrence and instill a culture that is proactive vs. reactive
- Knowledge on food safety and quality requirements/standards and/or operational experience on some product categories such as RTD milk, RTE yoghurt, dairy/non-dairy based powder
- Experience in analysing and interpreting complex problems/data gathered from a variety of sources and utilizing effective decision making
- Demonstrated ability to work with external manufacturing partners and to collaborate with internal cross functional teams to align goals and action plans
- Fluent in English (other language is an advantage)
- Willing to have local/regional travel (min 30%); international travel (+/- 10%)

Vacancy description
In this role you are responsible to:
EM partners qualification, development, and management
- Responsible on qualification, development, management and project involvements for around 25 EM partners
- Conduct site audit related to external manufacturing qualification process as lead auditor for new EM partners and validate follow-up audits conducted by others.
- Conduct periodic external manufacturing audits (depends on risk profiling) for existing EM partners & completion of CAPA plans to assure quality, compliance and service level of EM products.
- Develop an aligned quality agenda with Procurement for EM partners in scope and provide quality input for business review meetings.
- Assure compliance & performance of EM’s through set-up complaints reporting process, MoC, crisis processes and lead program to bring EM in scope towards FC standards for certain categories and critical markets.
- Monitor complaint performance and define a strategy how to develop EM in scope based on complaint trend analysis and implement it.
- Provide adaptive thinking on problem solving based on expertise and knowledge and assure the depth of problem solving on escalated quality issue/crisis mitigation and structural complaint resolution related to EM in scope.
- Provide assistance to EM to resolve structural material issues impacting line – and product performance, when relevant with the business.
- In case of MQI and/or escalated issue/incident, facilitating and directing the RCA that under EM responsibility to the right direction, provide and/or offer support to EM including visit EM when needed, discussing and challenging the investigation result
Projects and Systems
- Strong involvement as project member in projects of NPD or Changes such as project under Big Rocks, 12Q Plan, related to EM in scope, from PSU until PLCC, including attending project meeting
- Involve in the Clearance checklist at each IPM stage and act as 1st QA approval.
- Quality expert for both clearance (for distribution & commercialization) & MoC with EM (for production & shipment) in the relevant product innovation project.
- Establish EM Change Control (eg. Product & process validation, product approval, lab approval to assure quality assurance & control for Milkubator or NPD projects with EM).
- Review SF and FP-produced-by-EM specification based on SAP PLM route.
- Prepare Q-agreement (including Q-KPI) based on alignment with relevant function, and find an agreement with respective EM.
- Project lead and/or member in projects which are relevant with department direction.
- Apply documentation and way of working according FC SQM corporate standards and F&B procedures, including maintaining database and regular report.
- Safeguard the implementation of FC SQM approach and Safefood360 within EM in scope.
