Senior Project Manager Supply Chain
FrieslandCampina's Ingredients business group is scaling its innovation pipeline and optimizing a supply chain network supporting approximately €1.5 billion in revenue across five factories. As senior project manager supply chain, you'll be the one who takes a new product concept or network idea and figures out what it takes to make it real: where do we produce it, what does it cost, and how do we get there? You're someone who sees a new product idea or a network opportunity and immediately starts thinking: where could we make this, what are the big cost drivers, and what's the fastest path to a decision? You don't get lost in three decimals behind the comma. You focus on the big picture first, build a pragmatic case, and rally the right people to make it happen.
You bring:
- a degree in food technology, process engineering, chemical engineering, or a related technical field. You understand production processes and can have meaningful conversations with R&D, technology, and operations;
- 7+ years of experience in project management, supply chain, or operations within a manufacturing or FMCG environment;
- strong financial acumen: you estimate investment needs, build business cases, and connect operational decisions to commercial impact. You think in "how much can we earn, and what does it roughly cost" before diving into details;
- the ability to lead pre-orientation studies: assessing feasibility of new product introductions, production transfers between sites, or network optimization scenarios;
- experience working in and leading multidisciplinary project teams across functions such as R&D, marketing, technology, operations, and finance;
- a practical understanding of dairy processing, ingredients manufacturing, or comparable food production environments is a strong advantage;
- excellent stakeholder management: you coordinate and align people across functions and seniority levels, from plant teams to steering committees;
- fluency in English and Dutch.

As senior project manager supply chain, you are the supply chain representative in innovation and commercialisation projects for Business Group Ingredients. When R&D develops a new product, when a production line could be better utilized at another site, or when compliance requires a packaging change for specific markets, you're the person who figures out the supply chain implications and drives the project from feasibility through implementation.
Your key responsibilities:
- lead supply chain pre-orientation studies: assess different production scenarios, estimate costs and revenue potential, and provide clear recommendations. The goal is to quickly identify the big opportunities and investment requirements, not to produce perfect analyses at this stage;
- build business cases and prepare structured decision documents for project steering committees and stage-gate reviews, ensuring supply chain feasibility is appropriately considered;
- act as the supply chain representative in multidisciplinary project teams, working alongside colleagues from R&D, technology, marketing, operations, finance, and sustainability;
- coordinate with project managers and program leads to define required supply chain deliverables, and take ownership of delivering them;
- assemble project teams with the right functional expertise. For larger projects involving significant capital expenditure, you work with dedicated capex leads who handle detailed engineering and design;
- manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation with financial discipline, escalating proactively when needed;
- drive end-to-end project execution from pre-orientation through implementation and production handover;
- identify and mitigate risks across all project phases, including contingency planning for critical scenarios.
Projects vary in size and nature: from new product developments and production transfers between factories to network optimization and compliance initiatives. You'll typically manage two to four projects simultaneously, either as overall project manager or as supply chain workstream lead within larger programs.
You will report to the manager commercialisation and work within a team of approximately six project managers. This is a stand-alone role where you take full ownership of your projects. You organize, you coordinate, you deliver.
