Controlling Planning & Reporting Analyst
The Financial Planning & Controlling Analyst is a key role and acts as Finance Business Partners to management by performing financial planning & controlling activities, providing in-depth financial analysis for the purpose of strategic and tactical decision-making.
The Analyst demonstrates a sound understanding of business performance drivers and builds plans, tracks results and performs analytics to deepen understanding for decision-making processes to steer the business. Hence, the Analyst participates in business planning & execution meetings providing sound financial & business performance reports.
Further, this position acts as key support function for the Regional Finance Controller, with regards to preparing Budgets, business information and presentations for purposes of providing guidance tracking performance for reporting in Monthly Business Review meetings, Sales meetings, Pricing Board, etc.

- Minimum Bachelors in Finance/ Accounting / Economics
- Minimum of 8years’ experience in Finance & Accounting
- Professional Accounting Qualification – Added Advantage

Financial Planning
- Translates business strategy into a business plan. Identifies key business drivers and translates them to business KPIs to facilitate decision making.
- Has good insight into Category value chain and business model. Is able to connect the linkages between input drivers and outcomes.
- Has thorough understanding of sector and competitor performance. Understands macro-economic situation and regulations and is able to quantify impact on business results.
- Reports on unit performance and provides insight to the leadership team on areas of performance and under-performance.
- Obtains and integrates cross-functional inputs to develop rolling forecasts for the region. Custodian of the planning and forecasting process.
- Co-ordinates the annual budgeting process.
Financial Controlling
- Understands accounting principles and standards (IFRS, GAAPs).
- Issues accounting guidelines and data collection templates in response to changes in accounting standards and internal reporting needs
- Defines and implements consolidation processes to adhere to statutory and management requirements.
- Manage financial closing processes, every month, quarter and year.
- Prepares local financial statements (P&L, Balance sheet, Cash flow, Notes to Accounts).
- Ensure adherence to audit requirements including co-ordination with statutory auditors.
- Ensure adherence to governance and compliance requirements in respect of accounts, reporting and audit.
- Defines risk control matrix leading to establishment of revenue assurance (RA) controls across all revenue streams. Constantly updates this matrix to prioritise high value, high risk areas.
- Documents the standard Finance processes, procedures, work instructions and SLAs.
- Translates exceptions into financial impact, and communicates the value at risk to management and initiates cross-functional actions to plug gaps.
- Identifies revenue / cost-saving opportunities for business based on insight into the company’s service delivery and revenue- generation and cost models.
Continuous Improvement
- Analyse current (work)processes, equipment and materials signal and evaluate bottlenecks and initiate and implement improvements
Management Information
- Provide insights at request or at own initiative regarding quantitative and qualitative developments by means of periodical and ad hoc reports and/or analyses, based on reporting guidelines
Relation Management
- Build and maintain a network of relevant (external) stakeholders/partners as well as manage the relation with the (direct) environment of the production facility/facilities
Projects
- Initiate, define, plan, manage and coordinate assigned projects, within the project management guidelines
Knowledge Development
- Keep up with relevant developments in own area of expertise, define knowledge gaps in the own department and ensure the development and exchange of knowledge among professionals within the department and the Commercial Team in general.
