The main purpose of our Senior Tax Accountant role is to coordinate and ensure the daily execution of Record to Report tax processes in line with service catalogue, corporate guidelines, internal procedures and departmental goals making sure all the assigned tasks of the job are managed in time with quality, continuously working to achieve customer satisfaction.

What we ask

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Economics/Accountancy (Master’s degree in Finance and Accounting is an advantage)
  • 4+ years proven working experience in taxation (Tax advisor certificate is an advantage)
  • Experience with direct taxes (e.g. corporate income tax) is a huge advantage
  • Solid hands-on working knowledge to improve/transform complex integrated RtR processes on regional/global level
  • Knowledge of accounting and the related principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
  • Process knowledge for own function and thorough IFRS knowledge
  • Excel, SAP, ERP knowledge
  • Advanced written and verbal communication, problem-solving and interpersonal skills
  • Prioritization skills
  • Project management skills
  • High attention to details and accuracy
  • Basic knowledge of LEAN/Continuous Improvement and/or CI mindset
  • Ability to make decisions on own level & "Can do" attitude
  • Fluent (written and spoken) English knowledge (Dutch or any additional European language skill is an advantage)

Vacancy description

Ensure quality and timeliness of the operational tasks in the field of Record to Report and Taxation:

  • Perform complex taxation activities and financial analyses 
  • Coordinate and perform tax and statutory scope with high complexity for FSSC relevant OpCos
  • Analyze and evaluate RtR Tax processes, and advice on improving these processes.
  • Coordinate and implement complex internal and external Tax and Statutory process changes
  • Perform month end and year-end schedules
  • Ensure that the internal tax controls are applied;
  • Coordinate and prepare periodical and ad hoc business reports required, based on (external) supervisory bodies and/or legal requirements and legislation.
  • Coordinate and prepare consolidated financial statements audited financial statements
  • Perform specialist accounting analyzes and draw up performance indicators to support the (team) manager.
  • Provide insights at request or at own initiative regarding quantitative and qualitative developments by means of periodical and ad hoc reports and/or analyses, based on reporting guidelines.
  • Prepare complex managerial reports
  • Support process integration and strong relationships with interdependent functions. 
  • Ensure coordination and alignment of financial processes with business processes in other departments within the person’s work field, within accounting financial guideline.
  • Proactively raise risks, opportunities and resolving problems; draws conclusions based on analysis and gives advice on optimizing existing practice. Identifies shortcomings in current methods, systems and procedures. Analyses, proposes and (where possible) implements alternatives.
  • Oversee and mentor junior team members

 

Projects and process optimization:

  • Take part in and execute (or ensure execution of) assigned business finance-related internal or external FSSC projects (mainly regional and global) – promoting effectiveness and efficiency in day-to-day operation in line with the project management guidelines
  • Signal bottle necks in (work) processes and advice regarding improvements in processes and procedures, and ensure implementation after approval
  • Contribute and coordinate department process, projects and system improvement initiatives
