As Global Data Governance Lead, you design and operationalize FrieslandCampina’s federated, automation‑first data governance model. You ensure that standards, policies‑as‑code and controls are embedded directly into data platforms, pipelines, catalogs and lineage so that quality, security and compliance happen by design.
You work at the intersection of Business, IT, Enterprise Data and Data & Analytics (D&A), chairing enterprise governance forums, clarifying decision rights and ownership, and enabling scalable stewardship. Your work creates one trusted view of data and accelerates decision making and Insights & AI delivery across the enterprise.

- You are customer‑focused and decisive, able to act with speed in complex environments, balancing governance with delivery and influencing senior stakeholders across Business, IT and Data & Analytics.
- You bring deep expertise in modern data governance, including federated / computational governance, data quality, metadata, lineage, privacy and platform‑enabled controls in cloud‑based data architectures.
- You hold a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Data, Information Management, Technology, Engineering or a related field.
- You have 10+ years of experience in data governance, data management, data architecture or data quality roles within large, complex organizations, with proven enterprise‑wide adoption and impact.

Vacancy description
As Data Governance Lead, you work at the heart of FrieslandCampina’s global data ecosystem, turning governance from a framework into a lived, embedded practice. Your scope is global, spanning business domains, IT, Enterprise Data and D&A.
You will:
- Design, run and continuously evolve the enterprise data governance framework, embedding governance into data products, platforms and pipelines through automated standards and controls.
- Partner daily with domain teams, data product owners, architects and platform teams to clarify decision rights, define ownership and embed data quality, lineage, metadata and privacy controls where data is created and used.
- Chair and orchestrate the Data Governance Committee, aligning senior stakeholders on priorities, trade‑offs and enterprise standards, and resolving ambiguity when definitions or numbers are unclear.
- Drive concrete governance initiatives such as data quality targets, trusted data certification, catalog and lineage adoption, and transparent reporting on data trust and compliance.
- Act as a change leader, enabling data stewards and teams to adopt new ways of working while keeping governance focused on outcomes: faster decisions, fewer escalations and higher trust.
