Head of Category Procurement External Manufacturing
The Head of Category Procurement - External Manufacturing leads the category team by driving successful sourcing strategies globally, in line with FrieslandCampina business needs, in order to maximize value for the company and maximizing the value from supplier relationships. You will be managing a team of 5 category buyers.
Wat we vragen
- 10 years of relevant experience in a similar complex & international context / company
- Ability to develop & deliver category strategies
- Capable to identify value creation opportunities, connection supplier capabilities with business needs (business case building)
- Change and stakeholder management: capable to build relationships and influence others. Key stakeholders are senior leaders in R&D, Supply Chain and Commerce.
- Analytical ability / should cost modeling / understanding of value & supply chain
- Experience with tender & contract management, complex negotiations, supply risk management and supplier performance management
- Affinity to sustainability KPI's
- Result oriented, decisive & focused on key priorities

- Be accountable for the creation and implementation of successful integrated category strategies, aligning business goals and customer requirements with supply market capabilities.
- Be accountable for a sourcing plan and NPD project management per sub-category, linked to 12Q planning
- Develop and maintain relationships with key and strategic suppliers to facilitate strategic partnerships leading to innovations, NPD’s and increased value. Driving outside in innovation through strong SRM. Ensure up to date global supplier capability knowledge.
- Identify, develop and deliver a roadmap in line with the company strategy & category strategies derived from that
- Act as the thought leader and key point of contact on all matters related to External Manufacturing category.
- Continuously explore and challenge FC spend in relevant category and drive related optimization
- Drive benefits and ensure full scope spend understanding as well as budget variance and cost price process. Drive cost transparency through solid should cost models.
- Build and maintain good relationships at both tactical and strategic level and seek approval on strategies, roadmaps. Aim for an Integrated perspective across functions and disciplines.
- Motivate and build an effective team, resulting in excellent performance.
- Manage, coach and foster development of direct/functional reports.
- Contribute to network decision making via Make or Buy analyses and drive the Buy agenda derived from that.
