Sustainability Manager

Reporting to the Corporate Affairs Director, the Sustainability Manager is a key role within our organization, responsible for driving and implementing sustainability initiatives and strategies. This position plays a crucial role in developing and executing sustainable practices across our company. The Sustainability Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability into our business operations and drive positive environmental and social impact.

What we ask

•    Bachelor's or master's degree in sustainability, environmental science, business administration, or a related field.
•    Proven experience in a sustainability management role, with a track record of successful strategy development and implementation.
•    Strong knowledge of environmental and social sustainability principles, practices, and regulations.
•    Familiarity with relevant sustainability frameworks, such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) or the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

•    Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
•    Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
•    Demonstrated leadership capabilities and the ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
•    Passion for sustainability and a genuine commitment to making a positive impact.

•    Resilient and able to work under pressure & business dynamic.

Vacancy description

1.    Sustainability Strategy Development:
•    Collaborate with the Director and senior leadership to define and develop the company's sustainability vision, goals, and strategies.
•    Conduct research and analysis to identify emerging sustainability trends, best practices, and regulations relevant to our industry.
•    Develop and implement a comprehensive sustainability roadmap aligned with the company's long-term objectives.
•    Develop and implement government relations strategy relating to Sustainability topics i.e. Ministry of Public Health, Ministry of Environmental, and Ministry of Agriculture etc.

2.    Environmental Impact Management:
•    Assess/Explore the packaging recycling association/ group and identify partners that are scalable in area of recyclability (We own our waste)
•    Develop and implement partnership strategies to amplify full packaging recycle community and to reduce the company's carbon footprint, energy consumption, waste generation, and water usage.
•    Track and report progress on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, including Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 emissions.
•    Set specific reduction targets for 4 focus pillars and work towards achieving them.
•    Implement energy and water efficiency measures and renewable energy initiatives to decrease carbon intensity.
•    Explore options for on-site renewable energy generation and collaborate with utility providers for procuring renewable energy.

3.    Social Responsibility:
•    Lead efforts to enhance social responsibility initiatives, such as community engagement, philanthropy, and employee volunteer programs.
•    Collaborate with human resources to develop and implement sustainability-focused employee training programs.
•    Work with supply chain teams to promote responsible sourcing and supplier diversity.

4.    Stakeholder Engagement:
•    Engage internal and external stakeholders to build awareness and support for sustainability initiatives.
•    Establish and maintain relationships with external organizations, NGOs, and industry groups to stay updated on sustainability best practices and collaborations.
•    Communicate progress, achievements, and challenges to stakeholders through reports, presentations, and other relevant channels.

5.    Performance Measurement and Reporting:
•    Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure sustainability goals and track progress.
•    Monitor and report on carbon footprint reduction progress, aiming for specific reduction targets.
•    Develop a roadmap and action plan for achieving net-zero emissions.
•    Evaluate and report the percentage of renewable energy sources in the company's energy mix.
•    Track the number of carbon offsets purchased or the volume of carbon removed through offset projects.
•    Analyze data and prepare regular reports on sustainability performance to be shared with senior leadership and other stakeholders.
•    Provide recommendations for continuous improvement and drive innovation in sustainability practices.
