Production Manager

The Production Manager is responsible for all aspects of production, including safe working behaviors, assuring the quality of products, delivering on time and in total, managing costs, coaching, staffing, and overseeing the execution and implementation of programs that must be aligned to customer requirements, supply chain strategies, and all associated KPIs.

Knowledge and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in a related field with a minimum of 6 years of experience managing in a manufacturing setting, preferably in Dairy, Food, Ingredients, or Pharma.

Knowledge
-    Ability to understand quality management systems and the International Organization for Standardization’s (ISO) global standards
-    Understanding of Production Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
-    Working knowledge of GMP, Safety Regulation and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations

Accountabilities

-    EHS & Quality Management:  Ensure the highest levels of safety, quality, productivity, and environment within our FrieslandCampina culture.
-    Planning:  Monitor the realized performance compared to the formulated planning and, where necessary, set priorities and/or alter the plan through consultation.  
-    Analysis:  Create quantitative analyses of the realization of assigned supply chain planning. Present issues in the S&OP meetings and ensure decision-making.
-    Management Information: Provide development insights through reports and/or analysis. Propose scenarios for changes to the production schedule.
-    Continuous Improvement: Observe/evaluate concerns and opportunities in processes, procedures, and/or systems, suggest options, and implement solutions. 
-    Projects:  Participate in projects, within the project management guidelines. 

Functional Duties

-    Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to regulatory and company standards and practices.
-    Foster a culture of continual improvement and a focus on best practices.
-    Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure objectives are achieved.
-    Maintain transparent communication. Communicate information through department meetings, one-on-one meetings, and regular interpersonal communication.
-    Stay current with the latest production management best practices and concepts.
-    Model and promote the company’s mission and values.
