Every day with pleasure at work in the can factory

At the can factory in Leeuwarden, Thi Hang works as a Process Operator. She joined FrieslandCampina in 2018, initially spending eighteen months as an agency worker. She is now permanently employed and has become an indispensable member of the department where tins and cans are produced.

The material arrives in large rolls and is processed in her department into sturdy cans with lids. It is a remarkable process where technology and precision come together. For Thi Hang, it is clear why she feels so at home here. “My job is my hobby. I absolutely love coming here,” says Thi Hang.

A team you can rely on

For Thi Hang, teamwork is second nature. She works in a team where colleagues support one another every day. In their various tasks, she and her teammates complement each other. What one person takes on is strengthened by another. This is how they continue to improve together in what they do.

Whenever something comes up, she turns to her colleagues for support. “There is always someone who thinks along with you or steps in to help,” explains Thi Hang. That mutual involvement creates trust, a positive working atmosphere and the sense that you are in it together.

Her working day begins with a round along the production lines and machines. She checks where work is needed, inspects the installations and replenishes supplies where necessary. She also carefully inspects the cans. Are there any scratches or dents, and is everything exactly as it should be? With this focused start, she maintains control over the process and contributes to safe and smooth production.

Thi Hang is technically minded and enjoys working with machinery. “It remains special to see how the incoming material gradually transforms into a can that is ready for use,” says Thi Hang. “It is precisely the combination of technology, responsibility and visible results that makes my work varied and challenging,” adds Thi Hang.
