With the introduction of Global Shared Services, we moved from a complex, traditional 'back-office' structure to a streamlined operational, business process centric organization delivering improved and consistent quality to our customers and consumers. 

 

As a Global Manager RtR Business Operations you'll lead and optimize the end-to-end Record to Report (RtR) activities globally with a focus on accounting processes related to supply chain and go-to-market, in line with strategy, policy and guidelines  in such a way that the operational and tactical RtR processes run efficiently and effectively meeting the agreed service levels ensuring stakeholder satisfaction.

You will organize and manage the team effectively and continuously optimize with digital first mindset. Responsible for meeting KPIs, creating business value, driving continous improvement, and providing leadership and coaching to team leaders and team members.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance
  • IFRS or Chartered accountant certificate is an advantage
  • 10+ years of experience in Accounting, Finance or a GBDS (shared services) environment within an international and multicultural organization
  • Minimum of 5+ years of leadership experience with people management in a managerial position (direct and indirect reportees)
  • Excellent and comprehensive E2E RtR process knowledge
  • Strong accounting knowledge
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, influencing and interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding people & stakeholder management in a multicultural environment
  • Digital & automation literacy: knowledge of RtR and office applications
  • Ability to influence and inspire
  • High degree of autonomy

Strategy development & implementation:

Contribute to the development of the RtR strategy and take responsibility to implement the RtR strategy. Contribute to the development of the GBDS strategy and policies.

RtR process scope:

Lead the E2E RtR teams on their daily activities and priority setting in line with performance targets, service level agreements and stakeholder satisfaction. Monitor and steer performance.

Scope within the Business Operations team activities for entities transitioned to GBDS

•          Responsible for preparation and execution of all types of supply chain finance accounting activities

•          Responsible for preparation and execution of all types of commercial finance (go-to-market) accounting activities

•          Responsible for leading balance sheet review calls

•          Responsible for leading RTR operational performance meetings (OPM)

•          Responsible for preparation and execution of journal entries

•          Responsible for preparation of balance sheet reconciliations

•          Responsible for month end close activities

•          Responsible for monitoring and producing reports, both for management reporting and for external audit

•          Query handling and resolution of escalations from the business

•          ICF control owner for supply chain and go-to-market activities                     

Responsible for business partnering with operating companies globally.  Responsible for implementing country specific RtR processes globally in line with IFRS and Sherpa guidelines.

Networking: build and maintain a network of relevant (internal and external) stakeholders/partners.

Knowledge development: Ensure knowledge & information level of the E2E RtR teams is kept up-to-date.  

Performance management: drive leading performance mindset in teams with a focus on continuous improvement to drive efficiency and maintain service level within the team.

Compliance:  Responsible for leading compliant operation,  implementation and execution of Internal Control Framework and Segregation of Duties. 

Scope standardization: implement one way of working for RTR activities in scope.

Reporting and Management information:

Provide insights at request or at own initiative regarding quantitative and qualitative developments by means of periodical and ad hoc reports and/or analyses, based on reporting principles.

Ensure monthly KPI/OPI reports are produced, according to defined formats, procedures and legislation. Safeguard accurate and timely reports towards key stakeholders on key performance indicators. Analyse performance metrics to identify what drives results and create business value. 

People management:

Lead, coach, develop and appraise team leaders and team members. Lead all HR initiatives (hiring, performance appraisal, development, communication etc.). Implement a robust back-up and knowledge retention plan. Ensuring adequate people management for direct reports and succession planning.

Policy & Controls ownership:

Co-owns the RtR policies and procedures. Adheres to the standard operating procedures  (SOP) associated to RtR and improves SOPs where necessary or relevant. Owns the controls associated to RtR.
