R&D development specialist Encaps C&T liquid
As Development Specialist, you are a key innovation partner for the Encaps C&T Liquid Category Team to create inspiring value propositions to win in the market . You’ll develop and optimize encapsulated fat powders for bakery and beverage applications, tailored to strategic customer needs. With a strong foundation in food science and technology, a hands-on mindset and customer focus you’ll drive New Product Development (NPD) and Design to Value (DtV) projects to deliver business growth. You’ll collaborate closely with the R&D Manager and cross-functional teams to turn insights into impactful product solutions.

- MSc in Food Science or Food Technology.
- 4+ years of experience in product development in Food industry, preferably B2B.
- Expertise in dairy technology (spray drying, emulsions, food physics).
- Experience with bakery and beverage applications.
- Strong skills in experimental design, data analysis, and reporting.
- Customer-focused mindset with commercial awareness.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, able to drive decisions.
- Hands-on lab and pilot plant experience.
- Curious, collaborative, and impact-driven.

- Identify new opportunities through market trends and external innovation partners.
- Fill the innovation pipeline with new and optimized product ideas.
- Co-create product concepts with Category Marketing.
- Act as technical project lead for complex NPD and DtV projects from concept to launch.
- Drive value engineering initiatives with Procurement and Supply Chain.
- Build strong internal and external networks to accelerate innovation.
- Translate R&D technologies into market-ready concepts.
- Support technical sales in strategic customer engagements.
- Strengthen internal R&D capabilities and efficiency and advise on stage gate decisions.

You’ll join a strategic R&D team of 20 professionals working on Encaps C&T Liquid across EMEA and Asia. Based in Wageningen, with regular presence in Amersfoort and travel to customers and conferences, you’ll work closely with Category Marketing, Supply Chain, QA/RA, Procurement, Technical Sales, and external partners.
