R&D Manager Packaging Asia
At FrieslandCampina, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced R&D Manager to lead the packaging development initiatives for our Asia business group. This role is based in Singapore. You will be part of the R&D leadership team Asia and of the R&D Global Packaging leadership team. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, suppliers and stakeholders, to deliver impactful, cost-effective, and sustainable packaging solutions.

The Packaging department is an international community with 40+ colleagues from 12 different countries and we are based in Wageningen (the Netherlands), Singapore and multiple countries in Europe and Asia. Our team members hold at least a Bachelor’s degree, gained experience with working in different cultures and are above average interested in technology. They cooperate to achieve our ambitious targets.

To become the R&D Manager Packaging Development, you are/have:
• Master’s degree in Packaging Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in packaging development, preferably in the FMCG sector in the field of food packaging technologies like metal cans, sachets, pouches and PET bottles.
• Proven leadership experience in a multicultural and cross-functional environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strategic thinker with a hands-on, pragmatic approach
• Passionate about sustainability and innovation

Stellenbeschreibung
As Manager Packaging Development, your key responsibilities will:
• Lead the development and execution of the Asia packaging strategy, with a strong focus on sustainability, cost-efficiency, and consumer needs.
• Contribute to achieve our packaging sustainability ambition to become fully circular with a net climate neutral impact by driving the packaging KPI’s within our Asia BG.
• Manage and mentor a diverse team of packaging professionals (approx. 5 direct and 7 indirect reports).
• Manage the Singapore packaging budget
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, supply chain, procurement, and external partners.
• Ensure smooth project execution and alignment with business goals.
• Promote a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and teamwork.
• Represent the packaging function in senior-level discussions and strategic planning.
