Intern Process Optimization - Lactoferrin
A key process in Veghel site is the extraction and purification of lactoferrin from cow milk. Lactoferrin is a valuable protein found in milk at low concentrations and is considered one of the most important ingredients in the dairy industry. Due to its low concentration in milk, its extraction and purification rely on a series of chromatography and filtration processes.
The objective of this internship assignment is to analyse and improve the chromatography process. The intern will investigate the current manufacturing workflow, identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies, propose strategies to optimize product the chromatography process and test these. The goal is to achieve higher yield, improved product quality, and reduce waste during production.

We like our job and to discuss the challenges it faces during lunch but we also like to go out for a lunch walk and discuss subjects not related to work. We have a big open office in which it is easy to ask for help when needed. The culture is very open and it is easy to walk to the operations manager of logistic manager when needed without an appointment.
Our office is in the middle of plant Veghel between al the production plants. This makes it easy to walk to production for a simple question or check. The operators like to think with you for a solution of your problem.
