Sales Area Manager

The Role
The Sales Manager position is a pivotal role in our company's success. You will be responsible for developing the forecast and strategy that accelerates profitable revenue growth by building strong relations with retailers and customers. Your expertise in sales strategies will be instrumental in translating global strategies for North America, supporting brand awareness, creating brand followers, and driving product development initiatives.  You will also ensure that our retailers' shelves are stocked with best-in-class content, utilizing promotions, price, and channel development. The ideal candidate is well-versed in traditional and emerging sales initiatives and has a proven track record of working with Club Stores and Supermarkets as well as managing brokers.

Essential knowledge and experience
•    BS in Sales, Marketing, or Communications or related field (Master preferred) with a minimum of 5 years of sales experience with Club Stores and Supermarkets
•    Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing a plan to ensure future profitability and growth with customers; proactively partner and align with stakeholders 
•    Excellent broker management skills
•    Experience in creating and implementing brand management strategies
•    Strong business acumen and track record of over-delivering results
•    Experience in developing breakthrough consumer connections and communications 
•    Excellent time management/project management skills (ability to multitask and manage competing deadlines and multiple stakeholders' demands). 
•    A team player who can inspire and lead a cross-functional team
•    An entrepreneurial and creative spirit with the ability to deliver solutions

As a Sales Manager at FrieslandCampina, you will have the opportunity to use your curiosity, passion, and communication savviness to devise a sales strategy for our products/brands. This role is not just about driving sales, it's about building Consumer Dairy’s reputation as a world-class, global leader providing a diverse and exciting range of internationally acclaimed cheese brands. This is a chance for personal growth and development in a dynamic and challenging environment. 
•    Based on your expertise and experience, develop the long-term sales plan for channel development, promotions, price, presentation, distribution, and product development.
•    Define an account plan (including relations management, budget, distribution, shelf position, and shelf share), realize the plan, and update the plan regularly based on analysis, trends, and developments.  
•    Make contract proposals, negotiate with (potential) clients, ensure contract signing is in line with the approved sales strategy, and monitor contract execution (e.g., the right products at the customer in the right place).
•    Initiate and maintain relations with strategic (potential) customers, monitor developments and performance (or ensure that this is done), settle escalated questions and problems, and, where necessary, initiate corrective measures. 
•    Ensure the delivery of a sales promotion and activation package based on a strategic plan, sales forecasts (in consultation with the customer), and estimated sales volumes.
•    Develop, maintain, and expand a strategic external and internal relations network and manage the organization's interests. 
•    Own and maintain a reliable sales forecast & S&OP.
•    Visit accounts, monitor the execution of the agreed account plans and promotional activities, and ensure the promotional activities are executed as agreed.
•    Based on customer requests, generate ideas for innovation and new products/market segments/product market combinations, develop business cases and internal possibilities, and ensure execution.
•    Provide analyses of current (work)processes, evaluate bottlenecks, advise on improvements in processes and procedures, and ensure implementation after approval.
•    Collect and interpret market information (e.g., trends, needs, competitors, new products) and translate this into (proposals for) (corrective) action.
