Internship product development hybrid products
The topic of this internship will focus on the earliest stages of a new product development. You will unleash your creativity by designing prototypes for hybrid products using a combination of plant-based and dairy ingredients. In this role, you will be required to make a roadmap for building up a recipe, which will include the screening of ingredients, and the identification and explanation of how potential processing parameters will impact ingredient interaction. The deliverable will include recommendations guiding future developments of texture, flavor, and recipe buildup of hybrid products.
Additionally, we are in the final stage of development where recipe validation at factory scale is crucial. You will be asked to provide data analytics support for the validation of this recipe’s robustness, to facilitate delivery of the product to the market.
What we ask
To be successful in this position, you are/have:
- Good knowledge of food technology and food ingredients, basic knowledge of dairy technology.
- Final years of relevant MSc study, e.g. Food Technology, Chemical Engineering.
- Fluent in English.
- Good planning and organizational skills.
- Flexible, creative, and able to act with speed and decisiveness to achieve the best results.
- A strong communicator, able to work well in a team environment.
- Experience with experimental design and statistical analysis is a plus.

We are closely connected to other R&D disciplines, like Research, Sensory, Packaging development and the Pilot Plant. The Chilled dairy development team is part of Europe business group. You will be part of an international team of 12 developers. Within the chilled dairy development team we are focusing on Family Nutrition for the European business to consumer market. We develop healthy, nourishing products, including milk drinks, vla/custard, yoghurts and quarks. These products are introduced to consumers under the brands such as Campina, Chocomel, Mona, Optimel and Vifit, as well as for Private Label. Important aspects in product development are to develop palatable products with great taste and texture, while taking the nutritional profile, consumer trends, and sustainability into account.
