General Accountant

Primarily responsible for the daily execution of Record to Report processes in line with corporate guidelines, internal procedures and the departmental goals.
Execute based on established accounting principles, policies and procedures & ensure we are compliant; internal controls are adhered to; terms of the service level agreement are consistently met; and that efficient workflows and best practices are adopted, in the Record to Report department. Understand and able to address the treatment of deviations and exceptions, via phone and e-mail handling and maintains positive working relationships with cross-functional teams and business partners

  • Graduate with Bachelor's Degree in Accounting / Finance or equivalent.
  • Working experience in a finance related area minimum of 2 years Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Good attention to detail with good analytical skills.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Proactive and willingness to learn.

Vacancy description

Functional Task

  • Execute IC reconciliation and mismatch reporting and drive resolution through creation of monthly reports and communication with related counterparties.
  • Prepare, analyze and deliver Related Party Transaction (RPT), Cross Border Corrections (CBC) and other complex reports (quantitative and qualitative), in accordance with defined formats and procedures.
  • To monitor and ensure timely clearing of all IC postings in the intercompany suspense account to reduce the risk to group P&L.
  • Execute monthly intercompany netting through netting system
  • Execute weekly collection dunning and collaborate with related counterparties on payment plans.
  • Prepare standard reports within own processes using financial tools (eg: SAP, HFM, Co-Process)
  • Ensure monthly RTR Controls are in place in accordance with Internal Control Framework (ICF) guidelines.
  • To back up and assist other general accounting tasks as and when required.
  • Ensure that manual journal entries are supported with valid supporting documents, are Sherpa compliant and complete with coding
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and clearing on balance sheet accounts
  • Follow up on balance sheet open items and ensure that actions are tracked.

Service Management

  • Minimize the number of workflow escalations by ensuring all work are processed within agreed service timelines.
  • Ensure OpCo queries/issues are attended to and resolved in a timely, responsible and proactive manner.

Quality and Continuous Improvements

  • Identify bottle necks in (work) processes, provide proposals on improvement opportunities within own area
  • Provide support in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute in daily improvement
